Kream - Mall of Africa

After what we have been through the past couple of months with the Covid19 restrictions we had to learn to appreciate the small things like appreciating a meal at a restaurant. Never in a lifetime did we think that one day we would not be allowed to go out and enjoy and a good meal in our favourite restaurant. To us its Kream, We have been to the Brooklyn one, but Kream Mall of Africa is our favourite one.

We have been there so many times and because everyone makes it a point to know the regulars. We are like family. I guess it is the way they treat their customers that makes them feel at home.

The restaurant itself is beautiful, it is very modern and sophisticated. The ambiance is very warm and welcoming, but beyond all that, there is a soul, and it is the people. The managers and the waiters take time to know you and recognise you when you walk in the next time.

To us it’s an all-seasons restaurant, where you can be cosy in winter months and still enjoy lunch and drinks outside in summer months.

My favourite dishes are - Salmon with vegetables and baby potato, I always ask for extra butternut I love the combination of salmon and butternut. Another favourite of mine is the baby kingklip which they know I prefer it cajun style this just gives the fish more flavour. I also prefer this with just pureed butternut. The pureed butternut is very rich and creamy and blends perfectly well with the fish.

Dessert, my two favourite options are – Candy crush which is a rainbow cheesecake served with caramel popcorn, cotton candy and bubble gum ice cream this dessert certainly puts a smile on my face, one of the Managers at Kream describes this dessert as “childhood on a plate” which is very fitting to this dessert.

I also love Malva pudding, Malva pudding is one of my ultimate favourite desserts of all time.
