My short encounter with Dubai
My short encounter with Dubai was a magical one. We had a 19 hour lay over in Dubai on our way to Spain.
We decided to stay over at Armani hotel so that I can tick off the experience of being in the tallest building in the world. Armani hotel is located inside the Burj Khalifa.
We arrived in the evening, and it was very hot. Wow, Dubai is incredible! Dubai has many tall building structures towering over the city.
We arrived at the hotel at 20h00. The hotel has modern decor, furniture made out of dark wood and has yellow lights that brings a different ambience to the hotel.
You get assigned a manager for the duration of your stay who is there to assist in whatever you require. When we were checking in our manager casually asked if we were celebrating anything. I answered “yes its my birthday”
He took us to our room and showed us how everything works. Everything in the room is operated by an iPad, from closing your curtains to operating the air conditioner and TV. Everything in the hotel was super high tech.
Moments later there was a knock on the door. It was a delivery of a complimentary birthday cake from the hotel. What a surprise!
Dinner was on another level! we had booked at Amal restaurant for my birthday dinner . This was one of those experiences of a life time type of dinners.
Breakfast was an experience on its own, dining on level 122 at Atmosphere restaurant on top of the Burj Khalifa with a spectacular 360 view of the city.
Overall Dubai experience was incredible, looking forward to visiting Dubai in the future for a longer stay, but it will have to be in winter because we were there in the middle of summer and it was super hot. Temperatures were between 40-45 degrees celcius.
